Social Work Salon #28: A Working Model of Care for People at Home

n the morning of November 9th, China Social Work Research Centre held a lecture on the Working Model of Care for People At Home. The lecturer Mr. Michael Scott is a Senior Trainer at Care Visions, which provided nursing and social care for people with advanced or progressive complex health needs within their own home. DENG Suo, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology at Peking University, and graduate students in Social Work were also present.

 

Mr. Michael Scott has 35 years experience in customer service and health and social care. During the lecture, he introduced the Health and Social Care Model in the United Kingdom at first. Then he shared what it means to work in a person center way and dilemmas when working with person centered value. At last, integrated with the practice that Care Vision (Beijing) provided, Mr. Scott introduced the end of life care and support and how to work with people with dementia.
